This is a post that I had as a draft before I quit blogging. It has to be a couple of years old but I never published it - so I am publishing it now. :-)

Carson has been particularly funny today. Here are some of my favorites from the last several hours:
"Mom. We are not having this discussion."
"Don't get mad, get Glad."
And when I told him to quit bothering Brinkley...
"I have to do that. How else am I going to learn karate?"
"Mom. Will you do me a solid and hand me my Sprite."
"Oh Brinkley! That is the cutest 'yarn' I have ever heard!" (aka - yawn)

Carson's Quotes of the Day
While driving to visit a possible puppy addition to our fam today he asked if were where there yet. I told him we were half way there. A few minutes later he said to me... "Mom. I've been wondering my whole life... What does 'we are half way there' really mean?"
On the same trip to see the puppy he sat criss-cross-applesauce in his booster seat. Whenever he does that his legs go to sleep. Lately I have been trying to teach him about limbs 'going to sleep' and why it hurts and feels 'like bugs biting me', as Carson puts it. So today when they started to feel like that I reminded him to uncross his legs and wiggle them around. A minute later I heard him saying to his legs... "Good morning sunshine! Did you have a good night sleep?"
LOL. He is so clever. :)

Mint Hershey's Kisses
Carson: "Mom PLEASE!? They look delicious and they are green all over!"
(This after he has already had about 10 and the St. Patty's Day cheer in my decorative vintage candy jar is dwindling. At least a few of these little guys have to last until the 17th. That jar needs a splash of green until then!)

Quotes of the Day - Carson
Carson ran out of the playroom to tattle on his cousin Christopher (or Topher as he goes by sometimes) and he was yelling to Tiffany, "K-opher won't let me play!" Well Tiffany kept trying to tell him how to say 'Topher' or 'Christopher' and was trying to tell him that he was combing the two together and finally he just stopped and looked at her and said, "Aunt Tiffany. You know that one of yours that is bigger!? Well he isn't letting me play!" (while stretching one arm high and one low to show her 'bigger'). LOL.
and...
I found a box of old cell phones in our garage which Robert wanted to sell on eBay or something and I gave a couple of them to Carson to play with - since I am pretty sure they will never be sold on eBay! That ship has definitely sailed. He was so excited and said, "Are they real!?". I told him they were and he said, "But are they alive!?" :)
I think I will try to plug them in so they can be alive too!

Quote of the Day - Carson
Carson is going through this little phase that drives me absolutely nuts! He makes these little noises like a baby or monkey. So this morning while we were taking the kids to school he started doing it again...
Me: Carson. Quit making that sound. You are not a baby or a monkey.
Carson: Mom. I KNOW I am not a baby or a monkey!
Me: Then why are you doing that?
Carson: Because I am just a regular boy that makes noise.
Huh. Ok. I guess that's true. He IS just a regular boy. And little boys makes noises. For no apparent reason. My mistake.

Quotes of the Day - Parker
Parker: "Carson. You are such a dummy."
Me: "Parker that is not a nice thing to say to your little brother. That makes me sad."
Parker: "Sorry buddy. I misspelled. I meant to say gummy."
-----------
Parker and Carson have been sleeping in the same room lately. Tonight Carson was being a little rambunctious apparently - because all of the sudden we heard Parker shouting to us, "Carson is not going to sleep. I repeat. Carson is not going to sleep."

Quotes of the Day
Last night Parker was writing sentences for his homework and he made up a sentence that had the word 'to' and 'too' in it. I was impressed that he knew the difference and we started talking about it. Here is just some of the exchange...
Robert: "Parker. Too is the same as saying also."
Parker: "Dad. It’s not a pronoun."
Me: "What’s a pronoun?"
Parker: "It takes the place of another word."
He is so funny and it amazes me every day how much he is learning. He is starting to love to read and it makes me so happy! This morning on the way to school he said, "I want to see if I can get a chapter in really quick." So he intently read the whole way. So cute. I guess he just really can't wait to see how the mystery unfolds with the Marshmallow Monster in his book! :)
Speaking of books... Parker has a book called Diary of a Wimpy Kid and the movie is about to be released. The commercials are on tv all the time now and the kids talk about it and want to see it. Carson, on the other hand, is really looking forward to seeing Diarrhea of an Olympic Kid. Lol.

I want to freeze time forever.
Me: Carson. Go get in bed right now.
Carson: Can I sleep with you and daddy?
Me: Ok! :)
Carson: Ok mom. I will get in bed and lay down and dream of snuggling with you until you come up.
Is is even possible that one day he WON'T say things like that to me!!?? :(

Quote of the Day - Parker
"The 15th is King Juniors birthday." And later that night while getting ready to say prayers...
"Mom! Mom! Be sure to bless King Junior."
I'm pretty sure that Martin Luther King, Jr. will forever be referred to as King Junior in our house now. Lol! My little boy is the cutest thing ever! :)
Then today Parker started asking me about the civil war and if I lived back then which side I would want to win. When I explained a little about it I referred to 'white' people and 'black' people thinking that I was being as simple as possible. My bad. He looked at me and said, "Wait. I thought they had brown skin." Darling. And so right.

One of my favorite MLK quotes...
“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.”

Carson's Cute Quote for the Day
It has been snowing here on and off today and Carson thinks it is so fun. This is what he just said to me...
“Can I go outside and see if snow tastes like water?"
So I opened the door and he peeked out and stuck his tounge out and said, "It does! It does taste like water. Just like SpongeBob! It’s a wonderful day in the world!”
I’m not really sure why the SpongeBob reference makes it in there. But it makes for a cute and hilarious quote! :)

Quotes of the Day
PARKER -
"Mommy. I think daddy needs to start wearing pajamas to bed. So in case there is a fire he is ready."
"I hope I get a cool person that soliders good." At his pack meeting tonight they did a service project and packed little bags for soliders. Parker loved it and kept going back to do more. And he kept saying, "I am going to JAM PACK mine so the one who picks mine will be LUCKY!"
CARSON -
While doing art tonight in the family room... "Demi! I like your picture! You are a GENIUS!!"

My darling little old man...
I never watch the news in front of the kids. Ever. I don't want them to see and hear all the depressing stuff going on in life and have total anxiety about it like I did when I was younger. But earlier tonight it happened to be on and I didn't think about it. The next thing I know - Parker is sitting on the coffee table watching and yells to me, "Mom! There are elections going on!"
I told him it was not an election for the president like last time, but a smaller election for different leaders like mayors and governors and stuff. He then said, "Oh mom! I know what a mayor does. He is the principle of the city." Lol. He is so hilarious.
So that brings us to now... I just heard Parker say to Robert, "I am going to start watching the local 2 news." What!? He is only 6! :) He is so funny! And the thing that is the funniest about it is that he is totally serious and would recall everything and repeat it back to me 2 days later after he pondered it. That's Parker in a nutshell right there!

Parker's Quote of the Day
Parker just said to Robert, "Dad. You know how you switched jobs. I decided that I will do that too. First I will be a diver and then I will switch to the Army."So cute. :)
Then he said, "Or maybe I will be a diver for most of the week and then Army on Sundays."
So Robert had a little convo with him about the Army Reserves. Lol.

Carson's Quote of the Day
Demi was getting out a snack and got some cheese. Carson wanted some so she gave him a piece and the next thing I hear is..."No Demi."
(pause... blank look on face... more pausing)
"Is this cheese for a mouse Demi?"
Can you tell that we don't have Swiss cheese that often? We are more of a Cheddar/Colby/Monterey Jack kinda family. :)

Quotes of the Day
Robert
"Mommy. We gotta turn it up. That’s how we rock."
(explaining to me why the kids and him are turning the tv up loud)
Demi
"Yeah Hil. We're gonna rock. That’s how we roll."
--------
Parker
"Mom. I want my pancakes stacked up. Like 2 on top of each other. Not just one at a time. And I want one of those little square things on it."
(aka - butter)
--------
Parker
"Mom. If we have a hurricane and you see a little animal out there, will you save it and let it rest on our porch or in the garage?"

Quotes for the Day
Carson
"Are you going to put sour cream on me?
(aka - anti itch cream that I was going to put on his legs before bed from all his mosquito bites)
and...
Demi
"Did you do something different to this laundry?"
Me
"Yes I did. Why do you ask?"
Demi
"Because now it smells like moms!"
(more on this later... its all about my new tricks for my high efficiency washer and dryer)

Quotes of the Day
I ran a couple of errands this morning and when I pulled up and opened the garage door Carson ran out to meet me...
Me: "Hi buddy. I missed you."
Carson: "No. I not buddy. I son. My daddy calls me son."
Robert has never called either of the boys 'son'. Not one time. LOL. Where Carson comes up with this stuff - I have no idea. :)
And -
Carson: "Mommy. Look at me! Look at me!
(turning my head with both of his hands to look at him)
Are your glasses mad?"
I guess these are 'mad' glasses. Maybe that is why they were only 6 bucks at Old Navy. I mean they are pretty ugly - but I didn't think they were mad. I just thought they looked like alien eyes. I keep them in my pool bag. But now apparently I have to either throw them away or risk scaring Carson for life.
Oh well. 6 dollar glasses are 6 dollar glasses. I am sure he will get over it. :)
