The Galveston Sandcastle Competition

Every year Robert's company goes to Galveston for the Sandcastle Competition. This year we decided to join them. Robert went early with some of the employees to help set up and Tiffany and I took the kiddos later.

...all in one car. Lol. It was ok and they were all good until we had to wait over an hour in line just to get into the beach parking lot.

That part was pretty much a nightmare. See the barges and tankers in the distance...

When we finally made it to the beach we took a look at some of the sandcastles, let the kids play in the water for a bit, and then pretty much came home. It was a very long day for a short 2 hours at the beach. Lol. Oh well. At least we made the effort. And the kids can now be able to say that they visited Galveston ONCE when they were little.

Demi spent most of the time collecting seashells.

Sorry if I offend some Galvenites out there - but boy is Galveston gross. Maybe it is because I was born and raised in California with beautiful west coast beaches. I just can't help myself... It is just plain yucky. Dirty brown water, stinky ship channel air, no waves and barges, tankers & oil rigs as far as the eye can see. :(

Robert is slowly turning into my dad... A ridiculous hat to shade the sun and some sort of ice/cooler wet necklace situation to keep the heat at bay. Both of them are total pansies.

Parker found a feather and wanted to keep it so he could use it as a pen to write. I just kept thinking about all of the diseases lurking on it.

Parker and Carson thought it was so funny because Robert stood in the sand in one place forever to see how far his feet eroded down into the sand. He got pretty short. Even shorter than normal. LOL.

that is so funny because before you said anything about Robert looking like dad I was thinking the same thing. The look like twins...
