Since we have moved in we have not played in the backyard. We have had some drainage issues and there is nothing to play with yet... But finally one day we decided it was time. So we got some shoes one and I opened the back door. The kids ran out so excited and Robert followed. The next thing I see is Robert literally jumping about 2 feet in the air and tripping over himself. All because of this...

Now, needless-to-say, mommy has a major phobia of the kids ever going outside again!! Neither of us wanted to touch it so we put something heavy on it while we decided what to do. Time took care of our little problem for us. We went out 2 days later and it was crispy and dry. So Robert threw it over the fence. I hope it doesn't rehydrate and make an appearance again!

That is perfect. Your new big back yard and SNAKES!!!! Crap. Seriously, can they even go out to play?!?! I'm sure it was a friendly snake.
That was so funny! I was laughing so hard just thinking about Robert jumping two feet in the air!
Well, the weather is feeling so much cooler, so the snakes will probably be gone soon and the boys can go out and play again. I love blogging!

Seriously that got me laughing so hard. I also loved picturing Robert jumping two feet in the air. I love that you trapped it and just let it die in there. Way to be smarter than the snake. I would have been major freaked out too.
Now that's Texas! Very funny; especially letting the snake slowly cook to death; just like dad with our rabbits growing up!
