I live about a block from Johnson Space Center. Should I be worried about storm surge?
3:11 Eric Berger: Definitely yes, if the storm comes in between Freeport and Galveston.

My elderly grandparents live in the Golden Triangle area and were majorly affected by Rita. They are scared, obviously. Would it be wise for us to get them now and bring them to my house in The Woodlands?
3:12 Eric Berger: If it brings you comfort. I'd still say the odds of a strike that far east are low.

What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
3:13 Eric Berger: An African or European swallow?

I love quick and witty! It's high on my list of favorite personality traits!
This guy cracks me up. He is the 'SciGuy' from The Houston Chronicle and he is our local hurricane expert. He does online chats answering questions and such. Today during his online chat he said he was going to get nearly 2,000 questions regarding Hurricane Ike - and yet he still has time to be quick and funny... Here is a little sample of some of the chat... See the last two lines below... I was laughing so hard when he answered this guys question. And yes, I was sitting at my computer reading the feed as it came through... Hey! I have 2 kids in school now! What am I supposed to be doing? Mom - don't answer that! :) Although, my mom called me about 5 times today checking in on Ike - so I guess she would be doing the same thing today! :)
