The Drive-In

SPOILER ALERT: Don't read this post yet unless you have seen Indiana Jones already or don't care if I ruin it for you! Aren't I a considerate blogger!? :)

On Saturday night we went to the drive-in! It was so much fun. I literally felt like I was either back in the 50's or in the middle of Oklahoma with a twister bearing down on us. I couldn't decide which. Either way it was great! It was just hilarious. We had such a good time with Robert's sister and her family and with our cousin Sammy. The kids made beds in the back of the van and Carson kept getting in our van or Tiffany's car and yelling to watch the 'movie', aka the portable DVD player. He just didn't get it until the real movie started. I had no idea we even had a drive-in near us until I saw it posted on my friends blog. They go all the time. It was a really nice drive-in. They just built it a year or two ago and it had a lot of really nice families. It was almost like an episode of The Twilight Zone. I walked up to the grass in the front, right below the screen and there were all these really nice SUV's and mini-vans lined up with huge groups of families sitting in circles in their chairs, and the parents had organized games of red-rover and duck-duck goose going on. It was weird in a good way. We did have a tiny bit of trailer park going on in front of us, as you can see in one of the pics, but it just made the evening that much more memorable! Anyway, we had a great time and were planning on going back the week after next to see Indiana Jones until my sister texted me today with this tid-bit - totally out of the blue...
"We saw Indiana Jones last night and I DO NOT suggest you see it...Area 51...etc."
What a lucky girl I am to have fam that looks out for my mental well being! :)

So cute, Sammy had so much fun. It looks much nicer than the drive in I remember in Orem.

How fun is that!!What a great family outing. We went often when our first three babies were young. I didn't know people still did that.

great pics! and DO NOT go see Indiana Jones - it was pretty dang bad. And really it was the storyline that was just awful. David wanted to leave before it ended! But I wanted to take advantage of date night! :)
