Rodeo Time

It's that time of year again. Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo time. It is huge in Houston and today we had the funniest thing happen. We followed a bunch of horses staring at their butts for about 4 blocks. And when I mean followed - I mean like 4 feet behind. All we wanted was a nice little lunch at Cafe Adobe. It was so funny because everywhere you looked there was a huge caravan of wagons, Texas flags, horses and cowboys dressed in red, white and blue. And I don't mean 'America' red, white and blue. I mean 'Texas' red, white and blue! All the streets were blocked off and there were horse trailers everywhere. You can always tell it is this time of year... when you start noticing that every-other truck driving by you on the highway is pulling a horse trailer. Anyway, I love Houston! It brings back so many memories. It is so fun to have a major topic of conversation being the bbq cook-off or which night you are going to the rodeo and who you are seeing in concert. Fun times! Not to mention the dressing up like a cowboy, learning cowboy songs and poems and making little pictures of armadillos and bluebonnets for a solid week in school at this time of year! Just a little slice of Texas for you!

Cafe Adobe sounds so good! Hil, the next time I see Parker and Carson I hope they are both wearing huge belt-buckles singing the "Texas, Oh Texas" song.
