More Ike...

EDIT BELOW! Had to add a couple of things I forgot! :)

I have to include one more quick map to document Ike... You can't get more of a direct hit then this for Houston. I am not a worrier about stuff like this generally at all - but right now I am pretty happy I have some Xanax on hand! :)

These are the things I am worried about the most:
- power outage (which we have been told could be for up to 2 weeks!)
- not having enough food. I think we are ok on water.
- one of our windows breaking and getting water damage in our house.
- downtown Houston getting a ton of damage.
- Galveston getting wiped out like New Orleans.
- our friends and families homes that are further south then us that are in more danger.

Things we have done or are doing to prepare:
- tons of water.
- tons of food that does not have to be refrigerated.
- batteries for flashlights.
- everything in from outside.
- both cars in the garage! Which was a major feat!
- filled up the cars.
- filling up the bathtubs with water so we can flush the toilets and take sponge baths... yikes! :(
- wash all towels and underwear to tide us over!
- taking baths and showers this afternoon so we can be as clean as physically possible for the long haul! :)
- and most importantly... all iPods, Gameboys and DS's, camera and phones fully charged!

We are also very lucky because of our family and good friends all around us. Some of which have generators and have been checking in with us today. I can't imagine those who are without help and people to rely on in times like these. We are as prepared as we can be this go around and have great support nearby. What else can we ask for?
