Presidential Coins

A couple of months ago at Costco a very nice old man walked up to me and asked if he could give Parker and Carson a Presidential Dollar. The man was so darling. He gave them each one and then told Parker to 'have your mom look them up on the Internet and tell you about it'. And then he tried to shake Carson's hand - but instead Carson tried to 'bust him down'. I have to explain to the guy that Carson was trying to 'give him fists' instead. He started laughing.

Anyway... It was such a neat experience and since then our neighbor has given them one as well, and then on Friday at the 4th of July parade we went to they were circulating rolls of them through the crowd. Everyone would take one and pass the roll on. It was cool. It kinda brought a tear to my eye seeing people pass money around and only take one... Must have been the 'God Bless America' spirit that was permeating the morning! :)

Apparently I have to teach Carson how to actually shake a persons hand and I have to start a collection of Presidential Coins. Both good and worthy goals. They really are beautiful coins! Click HERE to check them out.

EDIT: Also click HERE to check out the site, presidentialdollarguide.com. I found out about them because they commented on this post.

That's a neat story. Nice to see the Presidential Dollars reaching the public.
