I Was Tagged... In DECEMBER!

OK. I was tagged by my sister in December and have been putting it off for this long because I could not think of anything remotely interesting to say about myself - but I will try now...

So, here are 7 fun facts that you might not have known about me.

1) When I was young (probably about 13) I subscribed to Civil War Digest. It cracks me up to think about it now! I was OBSESSED with anything that had to do with the Civil War. It started when I read a book about a girl that lived during that time. It was the first chapter book that I had ever read and I read the book over and over again until I started reading all the other books in the series. They were all about young girls in all different periods of history. It is funny to me that sometimes you can trace back or remember when you discovered one of your interests or where one of your 'hang-ups' came from. That was definitely where my love of history and reading came from!

2) Two of my absolute favorite voices in music are Freddie Mercury of Queen and Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac. Love them both!

3) I used to be very good at steel tip darts. Cricket, 301, 501 - any game. I have won ribbons and awards and used to play in leagues and tournaments. I have also participated in the Texas State Team Championships several times. Funny stuff! (I bet I am still good!) :)

4) I went to a different school almost every single year of my life until I was in the 10th grade. One year (2nd grade) I actually went to 3 different elementary schools. I look back now and wonder what it would have been like to be like my sister Mallory who had the exact opposite situation as me. She grew up from the time she was an infant with the same kids and living on the same street until she moved when she was in the 10th grade. I wouldn't change it, but it's funny to wonder...

5) Here are the jobs I have had (the ones I can remember anyway) in order starting when I was 15...

HIGH SCHOOL - shoe store salesperson, shoe store assistant manager
BEFORE COLLEGE - shoe store salesperson
COLLEGE - olin mills telemarketer, lane bryant salesperson, toys-r-us department head, pre-school teacher, grocery store marketing firm (don't really know what I did there)
AFTER COLLEGE (I didn't say after I graduated...) - home decorating and furniture store assistant manager (Alex & Ivy), cosmetics counter manager (Elizabeth Arden), pre-school teacher...

**This is where I guess you could say my 'career' started. At The Honor Roll school. It was my life and changed my life. I have the fondest memories of that school and still have many friends from that time. I worked there for 8 years as a supplemental kindergarten teacher, curriculum coordinator and assistant director. Then I moved to The Children's Courtyard as a director of the school-age program for 5 years until Parker was born.

6) OK. I am running out of things to say... So here is one that is not a surprise to anyone that REALLY knows me. I bought my first Franklin Planner in 1987 when I was 15 and have been a total FANATIC for my planner for every single day of my life since then. I have made my annual pilgrimage to the Franklin Covey store every December for my 'master filler' (and sometimes a new binder) for 21 years. Not an hour goes by that I don't use it.

I am way stretching it to come up with 7!

7) The first real album I got (and I do mean vinyl) was Shaun Cassidy... followed closely behind by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Billy Idol and Stray Cats!

**NOW I TAG KINSEY, JENNY AND MALLORY! (PRETTY SURE THIS IS THE SECOND TIME MALLORY HAS BEEN TAGGED AND I HAVE YET TO SEEN THE REPLY!)
