For the last 3 days he has been playing consistently with his imaginary dog named Maggie. Its a boy and he calls it Mags for short. He assures me though, that it is a clean dog because it doesn't poop. "It eats and stuff, but it DOESN'T poop mom!" And if I start talking to it he laughs and tells me... "It's not real mom!" He has been holding his hands out like he is carrying an imaginary pizza for 3 days. But he is really carrying Maggie. Maggie goes in the car with us to run errands. He eats next to Parker and sometimes I see Parker rolling around on the bed or ground because Maggie is licking his face. Is it wrong that I think it is darling!? Should I be concerned instead? Or maybe we should just get him a real dog so he doesn't have to desperately pretend... Over Thanksgiving when we were talking about what it is to be thankful and what we were thankful for, he kept telling us that he was thankful for his pets that he had that had died. This is turning into a very sad story... I really just meant for it to be a cute one! :) I can't help that we keep getting really fragile animals like fish and mice...

that is funny!! I love the scuba diving outfit, that really is creative. I wouldn't worry too much about Maggie. Bekah has a pretend mini (palm size) peter pan that goes everywhere with us. I have accidently run over him with the stroller wheels many atime. Surprisingly he still lives through it. She also pretends to have all sorts of other friends and insists I call her and Miriam a different name all the time (wendy and michael or Ariel and her sister Arosa).
I think this is the age for major pretend play. Let him explore. It is good he has an imaginary dog so you don't have to get him a real one and so nice that he doesn't poop (you have that kid trianed)
